Firstly can the mascots be accurately dated. I have read The Bulletin article in No 522 but it did not give a guide to dating? Secondly did the base attachment vary over the vintage years as I have seen some with what looks like a locating peg as well as either a bolt hole or bolt projecting and some without the peg {which may have been removed}?
