This will be a ‘Continuity Event’, immediately following International Alvis Weekend in York and will be based at the award winning Ravenhall Hotel on the coast between Scarborough and Whitby within the North Yorkshire National Park. This follows the hugely popular visit to the Isle of Man following IAW in the Lake District in May of 2018. May I remind all those attending IAW & interested in joining us, that you will need to extend your reservation at the Mercure Hotel in York to cover the Sunday night, 16 June. This will be a trip down ‘Memory Lane’ for Joan & me and we look forward to welcoming all who wish to take part in the ‘Tour de North Yorkshire’………any queries just contact me

July 2019

Fri 5th— Sun 7th

MIDLAND: Midland Alvis day, Doddington Hall, Nr Lincoln. Some bright chap being a tad fed up with a regular 170 mile journey to attend his ‘local’ A.O.D suggested it coming North to Lincoln for once and for a real change to make a weekend of it. Committee members rallied round and in no time we had the main event on Sunday at Doddington Hall (LN6 4RU), just four miles from Lincoln with a stable yard reserved for our lovely cars for the day. We have also reserved 25 rooms D.B.& B. at the Lincoln Hotel (LN2 1PN) Tel. 01522 520348 for Friday 5th, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th, as required, at a very good rate of £138 D.B.B. Free secure parking & IT available (if you must!) State ‘Alvis2019’ when booking. The Hotel overlooks our glorious Cathedral. The Castle, which houses Magna Carta, and the prison chapel as it was in 1850, is five hundred yards away. Guided tours are available for both, as well as for Doddington Hall, and are really worthwhile. If you are still bored on Friday or Saturday, ‘Steep Hill’ running down from the Cathedral in to the old town is well worth a visit (but remember you have to climb back up again!)
