After a very relaxing week on the Isles of Scilly (an amazing 600 vehicles (and an equal number of boats) amongst a population of just over 2000: but no Alvis!) came what many would regard as the North's premier Classic show at Newby Hall near Ripon on 16 July: an incredible display of 1500 cars including 19 Alvis on the AOC stand and 6 on general display with an autojumble to match. Met some new members and tracked down Arthur Fairburn's old TF now living in Bingley. This show is well worth a visit next year for members from further afield.
With no Northern Section weekend this year because of IAW, Anne and I are off with Simon and Andrea Blyth to sample the Scottish Section weekend in August not to mention the South East Section weekend at Hever Castle in October, when we hope to catch up with Brian Maile.
Our website subgroup moves into action in August when it will meet for the first time in London. However, don't hold back: if you have news items to post, please send them to the webmaster firstname.lastname@example.org.
