| The Alvis Owner
Club caters for all Alvis car and
military vehicle owners and enthusiasts. It is a very active club,
running a variety of social and gently competitive events all over
the UK, and some overseas. Members are to be found around the
world and this web site is one of the ways they keep in touch with
the Club. Information on the site is necessarily restricted, and
the author apologises for any omissions or inaccuracies, which are
his responsibility alone. He hopes you enjoy your visit and are
left in no doubt of the heroic scale of the contribution of the
small firm of Alvis to Britain's motoring heritage. The site was
written and compiled by Robin Gilbert, with help and encouragement
from Edgar Shields, Arthur Fairburn and others. Click on the links in the table below to navigate the site. Hotlinks are underlined thus - E-mail the Webmaster . |

| Marles-Weller Steering Shafts | Marles Weller steering boxes were fitted to many Alvis
models in the 1930s. There have been problems with cracked steering
shafts on these boxes and at least one has broken, leaving the
driver with no steering. There are known design and manufacturing
faults in these boxes and new shafts were produced which overcome
them. These shafts are now sold out, but it is known that more cars
survive than new shafts were sold. Consequently it is proposed to
manufacture a further batch. Click HERE
for details, including which cars are affected.. |
